iPhone owners looking forward to watching the NCAA tournament this season just lucked out. CBS Sports just released a $5 app that lets iPhone users enjoy every single game right on their phones.
That means whether you're at work or at functions most days, you can slip out and catch the games to feed your basketball obsession, provided there's an open Wi-Fi signal somewhere. You heard that right. Sad to say, AT&T practically crippled the app and are only allowing college hoop fans to watch the games over Wi-Fi. Way to go AT&T!
Of course, AT&T is offering the games on other channels, more specifically via MediaFlo for TV if you have either an LG Vu, Samsung Access, LG Invision or Samsung Eternity. While it would have made sense to allow the games over 3G connection (since MediaFlo isn't on the iPhone anyway,) the company seems interested in nothing but restricting the games to their preferred handsets.
From what I've seen of the app, it looks pretty good. It streams full games and will carry every single one - even those you can't find showing on CBS. The app basically mirrors the CBS Sports coverage on the official site and it was clear these guys wanted to deliver great content to iPhone-toting fans. Apart from the actual games, users can check out box scores, player profiles and even overlay stats while the video is playing.
Way to take an app with great potential and render it essentially useless. CBS March Madness On Demand is available for download now.

For the price of "free", you can watch over 1,900 live concerts and over 100 interviews from thousands of the most memorable artists of all time from the Wolfgang's Vault website. Even better, you can do the same on the iPhone via the Concert Vault.
The streaming app, which works with any iPhone or iPod Touch device running version 2.0, will allow you to access the ever-growing library of live shows and other music-related videos from Wolfgan's Vault. Just sign up for a free account with the site, either online or through the app, to have all of the classic and contemporary performances available to you anywhere you go.
With a repertoire of concert videos from artists that run the gamut of musical styles from blues to standards to alternative, there's something for everyone here to enjoy. Whether you want to relive 77 punk with The Clash, get your horns out with AC/DC, sing from the heart with Bruce Springsteen or just relax to Linda Rondstadt's soothing voice, it's all but a few multi-touch gestures away. Even better, you get them all at no cost!
Apart from the exhaustive content, Concert Vault offers a highly-intuitive interface with fast and easy operation. Finding concerts is easy, as long as you have an idea who the artist is, since the app lists matching names as you type. There are screens for the most popular shows (if you don't have a particular performance in mind) as well as a panel for the newest additions to the library.
Concerts can be enjoyed much like watching a DVD - allowing you to pause and resume at any point or jump to the next song in the set. Information about the show and the artists can also be accessed when you feel the need for some background knowledge. One of the best apps to make its way to iPhone, you can download the Concert Vault for free from the Wolfgang's Vault website.
