Leaked Phones: Droid 3, HTC Holiday

Two new handsets just made it to the rumor rounds Monday, the HTC Holiday and the Motorola Droid 3, both of them running Android inside big-screened frames.

HTC Holiday

A certified behemoth, the HTC Holiday takes the screen size game a step further, boasting a 4.5-inch touchscreen display.  Design is rather uncomplicated and simplistic, as you can tell from the photo above.  The display is  very generous, though, especially with its qHD (960 x 540) resolution.  Other leaked details of the phone include a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8660, 1GB of RAM, an 8.0 megapixel camera module and Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread.  AT&T is supposedly getting the phone for its US customers.  No word on when, but it's called "Holiday," so maybe the holidays?

Motorola Droid 3

Sure, you've seen leaked photos of the Droid 3 before.  This time, though, TechnoBuffalo manages to snag the inside scoop on its… uhm… insides.  Sitting underneath the handset's chrome trim are a 1GHz Tegra 2 dual-core system on a chip, 8-megapixel optics in the rear and a lower-res one for video calls.  The display has been bumped to 4 inches, with qHD (960 x 540) resolution, and, of course, that new raised 5-row keyboard layout.  It won't come with LTE support, though, so file those 4G dreams away for now.

Leaked: HTC Droid Incredible 2

This is some pretty big leak for the upcoming and still unannounced HTC Droid Incredible 2.   Bound for release by Verizon, today's leak is pretty complete -- with full specs and even the user guide thrown in.

As we’ve seen from previous leaks, this phone looks just like the Incredible S.   Heck, it's even coming out with Android 2.2 Froyo (same as its predecessor).  Of course, the specs get some sort of bump, though, which is the main selling point for the whole thing.

Details of the leaked Droid Incredible 2 include a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen (480 x 800 resolution), an 8.0 megapixel camera in the rear (with dual LED flash), a 1.3 megapixel front-facing webcam, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.1, 3G with HSPA, WiFi (with Mobile Hotspot), microSD card expansion (with a 16GB card preloaded) and a 1,450 mAh battery module (rated at 6.5 hours).  A 1Ghz Snapdragon CPU beats inside the shell measuring 4.75 x 2.52 x 0.48 inches.

The phone comes with HTC Sense running over Android, along with a slew of useful apps and some likely pointless ones bundled in.  Official launch is expected on April 28, likely at a $199.99 price point on contract.

Leaked Phones: Blackberry Torch 9860, Touch 9900

And the Blackberry leaks just won't stop.  This time, folks over at N4BB got full unofficial specs sheets for both the Blackberry Torch 9860 (codenamed Monza) and the Blackberry Touch 9900 (codenamed Dakota).

Blackberry Torch 9860.  Cited by sources as the reinvention of RIM's approach to touchscreen smartphones, the Dakota packs a 1.2 GHz processor and 768MB of RAM inside a 120 x 62 x 11.5mm frame.  Details include a 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen (800 x 480 resolution), a 5.0 megapixel camera module (with 720p video recording), aGPS, 3G with HSPA, WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, 4GB of onboard storage and a 1,230 mAh battery module.  It runs Blackberry 6.1.

Blackberry Touch 9900.  Sure, it barely looks evolved from RIM's familiar design aesthetics of old.  It looks kind ugly now, but the hardware is definitely updated to roll with the times: a 1.2GHz processor with 768MB RAM crammed inside a slim frame measuring 115 x 66 x 10.5mm.  Details include a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen (640 x 480 resolution), four-row QWERTY keys, a 5.0 megapixel camera module (with 720p video recording), aGPS, 3G with HSPA, WiFi, stereo Bluetooth, 8GB of built-in storage, microSD card expansion (up to 32GB) and a 1,230 mAh battery.  It also runs Blackberry 6.1, same as the Torch 9860.

You can check out the full listings from the pair of links below.

Leaked Phones: K-Touch W7000, Xperia X10 Mini Pro

A couple new phones were leaked to start the week, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro and the K-Touch W7000.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro

Yep, the name is a mouthful.  Considering it's still on the pipes, though, it might actually be christened with a less-strenuous moniker, so that's cool for now.   If you've been reading up on leaked handsets, you've probably heard of this as the phone codenamed "Mango."

The pictures reveal a compact horizontal slider with boxy corners and a generally business-like design.  Rumored details of the phone include a 3.2 megapixel capacitive touchscreen (800 x 480 resolution), a 5.0 megapixel camera module, a front-facing webcam, 384MB of RAM and a Qualcomm processor (either 800MHz or 1GHz).  It's expected to run the same version of Android as the Xperia Duo (2.3 Gingerbread), with an updated version of Sony Ericsson's small-screen UI.

K-Touch W700

Destined for the Chinese market, the K-Touch W700 is a high-end smartphone leaked by a poster over at ePrice.  The pictures (you can check out the site to see the lot) make out a very sleek-looking device, with rounded corners and 118 x 60 x 13 mm dimensions.

Slated for release under China Unicom WO, it packs a dual-core Tegra 2 system-on-a-chip, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of ROM.  Details include a 3.8-inch capacitive touchscreen (480 x 800 resolution), a 5.0 megapixel camera in the rear, a 0.3 megapixel camera in front, aGPS, WiFi, 3G with HSPA, microSD card expansion and a 1,500 mAh battery.  It runs Android 2.2 and will retail for the equivalent of $540.

Leaked Phones: Blackberry Touch, Motorola i475/i235

We got a pair of unreleased phones going around the news mills today, the Blackberry Touch and the Motorola i475/i235.

Blackberry Touch

Boy Genius Reports managed to obtain an unreleased prototype of the Blackberry Touch, RIM's likely replacement for the Blackberry Storm.  This is the same rumored phone earlier referred by two codenames -- the CDMA variant is billed as the Monaco, while the global GSM variant is called the Monza.

According to BGR, RIM's latest touchscreen smartphone is "thinner, faster and sexier" than any of their previous efforts.  It does look nice in the photos, all while retaining an identifiable Blackberry aesthetic.  There's no rundown of the specs, but they did talk about how the handset will be running Blackberry OS 6.1, so you will be needing a Blackberry ID (as opposed to a PIN) to log in to the BBM.

Motorola i475/i235

This one comes courtesy of the FCC database -- a newly-approved iDEN phone.  Referred to as both the Motorola i475 and the Motorola i235, it's a wide profile candybar with a four-row QWERTY keyboard.  Listed features include push-to-talk, Bluetooth, a 2.5mm headphone jack, camera, speakerphone and an FM tuner.  Neither pricing nor availability are known.  No clue either on which of Motorola's iDEN partners the handset will be released under.

Leaked Phones: Nokia E6-00, HTC Pyramid

Can't wait to hear news about upcoming smartphones you probably won't be buying anyway?  That's nice to know.  So here we are to quench your thirst with two new handsets on the pipe: the Nokia E6-00 and the HTC Pyramid.

Nokia E6-00

Someone from the NokioTeca forums managed to get their hands on the new E-series handset.  Clad in the company's familiar QWERTY candybar styling made famous by the E71, the new phone runs Symbian^3 and reportedly gets the same innards as last year's N8.  Details include a touchscreen display (about 2.8 inches, with a 4:3 aspect ratio), four-row QWERTY keys (with a layout similar to the C7), an 8.0 megapixel camera module with dual LED flash and a 3.5mm jack.

HTC Pyramid

Likely to be HTC's future flagship device, the HTC Pyramid just showed up in a fresh batch of pictures on XDA Developers forum.  According to the site, it will be the first HTC smartphone to get both a 1.2GHz Qualcomm dual-core processor and a qHD touchscreen display (960 x 540 resolution).

Known details include a 4.3-inch screen size, an 8.0 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and 1080p video recording,  a front-facing VGA webcam and 768MB of RAM.  It will run Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with HTC Sense UI 3.0 on top.   The prototype on the pictures look close to a final version, so I expect to see this one announced soon.

You can check the two sources below to learn more about the phones in question, with a whole lot more photos to stare at.

Leaked Motorola Phones: Targa, Droid X2 and Droid 3

Here are three new leaked phones from Motorola, courtesy of the Howard Forums.  We'll start off with the prettiest one and move down the desirability ladder (based on my personal tastes, of course).

Motorola Droid Targa

Looking like a sleeker version of the Droid X, this one inherits the camera hump on the back, all while sporting a more fashionable look, including a slightly wide profile and shiny chrome accents along the side.  All details are strictly what can be gleaned from the photos, though: a front-facing webcam for video calls, an HDMI out on the side and a 13 megapixel (!) etching under the camera (that high-res sensor isn't confirmed, of course).  We wouldn't be surprised at all if this turned out to be the high-end of the bunch -- going by the looks alone, it should be.

Motorola Droid X2

This one appears to take on the original Droid X body, all while getting an upgrade in the operating hardware.  Rumored specs include a qHD display and a dual-core processor, as well as a confirmed lack of 4G support.

Motorola Droid 3

This one will go without 4G, too, and will be packing a QWERTY keyboard like its predecessor.  Not much details to go on, otherwise -- at least, for now.

Phone Leaks: Nokia E6, Samsung Stealth

Here's your fill of current phone leaks running unchecked around the blogosphere.  Two handsets made the rounds this time: the Nokia E6 and the Samsung Stealth.

Nokia E6

You know the Nokia E71, right?  If you do, then you're probably well aware of how much people loved it, with some still calling it the best smartphone the Finnish company has done to date.

Well, the Nokia E6 is supposed to be jumping off from that, throwing in a touchscreen in place of the regular LCD on the popular QWERTY candybar.  Actually, the only leaked item is the image -- the touchscreen detail was inferred based on the finger-friendliness of those icons lined up on the display.

Samsung Stealth

While this phone was shown off at CES, it never got a proper introduction -- in fact, people just called "some LTE 4G phone from Samsung," not even getting an actual name.  It supposedly has a moniker now and it's the Samsung Stealth.

Details of the phone that have now been leaked include a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, an 8.0 megapixel camera (with LED flash), a 1.3 megapixel front-facing webcam, aGPS, WiFi (with mobile hotspot feature), Bluetooth, HDMI out, 828MB of internal storage, microSD card expansion (up to 32GB) and a 1,500 mAh battery.  Running the action is Android 2.2 Froyo (Gingerbread only on later upgrade), with a modest 1GHz Hummingbird processor providing muscle.  Do note that we're calling that "modest" since, let's face it, dual cores are all we're waiting for this year.  No leaked release dates or prices, though.

Leaked Phones: White Nexus S, LG Optimus 3D

Another day, another batch of leaked phones.  This time, we got two on the docket.

White Nexus S

The white iPhone 4 may or may never come.  If you like your smartphone drenched in white, you may as well just bite the bullet and make the switch to a Nexus S.  It's not exactly all-white, though -- the front and bezel are the same black as the standard model, with only the back getting the snowy hue treatment.

Leak comes courtesy of German tech blog BestBoyz, who report that the handset will be shipping at their home front.  No word on release dates and whether it will roll out to the rest of the world.

LG Optimus 3D

We've seen it year after year. Some retailers will inevitably slip up and post a new phone well before a big launch.  In this case, the launch will likely happen at Mobile World Congress, with the phone being the LG Optimus 3D.  Yep, 3D.

Retail site The Phone House was responsible for the leak, which they've since pulled.  Other than the name and a shot of the Optimus One (yep, no real pictures were outed), no specs made it to the live page, so we really don't know that much about the new device.  Given that it's likely going to be the first smartphone with a stereoscopic display, though, that's all the sauce the blogosphere needs to send folks a-buzzin'.

Do note that during CES, LG's James Choi actually piped, “3D mobile display is one technology that isn’t 3-5 years down the road… You’ll be very surprised, shortly, of an actual working 3D device from LG.”  We guess this is it.

Leaked Phones: Blackberry Storm 3, Nokia X7, Samsung S5570

We've got a new batch of leaked phones today.  Like always, we’re bundling them in one post, so you can read the juicy bits all in one place.

Blackberry Storm 3

BGR got the dibs on this new touchscreen smartphone from RIM, complete with dark photos and a full specs list.  According to the blog, the handset will sport the largest display from the carrier yet -- 3.7 inches (800 x 480 resolution).  Other details include a 5.0 megapixel camera module (with 720p video recording), the usual array of sensors, 3G with HSPA, WiFi, mobile hotspot, 8GB of onboard storage and microSD card support.  Core hardware is a 1.2GHz processor, with 512MB of RAM, running Blackberry OS 6.1.  Availability is being predicted for September, which is an eternity by technology standards.

Nokia X7

Up next is the Nokia X7 and it's one of the few smartphones from the Finnish manufacturer to get a stateside outing.  Expected to be announced at MWC, the leaked photos have it decked in AT&T branding.  Known details include a 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display, an 8MP camera with dual-led flash, a 3.5mm headset jack and dual speakers.  No clue as to what version of Symbian it's coming with.

Samsung S55 Galaxy Mini

Like your smartphones tiny and compact?  The Samsung S55 Galaxy Mini might catch your eye, with its small display (likely 3 inches with 320 x 240 resolution), WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD card support and an unspecified camera in the rear.  The cute little smartphone reportedly runs Android 2.2 and could cost less than $200 with no contract.
