Move Over Motorola, The Real Razor Is Here: SoloMobi Cool758

Something tells me Chinese cell phone manufacturer SoloMobi is carving a niche of their own in that market dominated with imitation iPhones and second-grade dual-SIM devices. Just several weeks ago, they showed off a very interesting gaming cell phone with dedicated controls that fold out from both ends of the handset.

This week, that imaginative spirit blazes further on as they roll out a razor cell phone in the Solomobi Cool758. Instead of a two-bit take on Motorola's flip device, however, the Cool758 offers dual functions as both a full-featured mobile phone coupled with an electric shaver.

You heard that right. SoloMobi's new device includes an on-board shaving implement, accessible by popping out the cover at the bottom of the phone. No longer will you need to go to work with a face full of hair in case you forgot to shave in your haste - simply hit the first bathroom you see, pull out your phone and begin trimming down those stubbles. Make sure to wipe the hair off your phone as I'm pretty sure this thing will leave a mess.

It offers up to 30 minutes of non-stop shaving time, along with up to three hours of talk time and 260 hours on standby. Other specs include a fully-functional 2.6-inch touchscreen LCD, the requisite dual SIM slots, an FM tuner and a 2 megapixel camera.

SoloMobi takes feature phones seriously and this one packs one of the most unique functionalities we'll ever see on a cell phone. The SoloMobi Cool758 is currently available in China for $112 - definitely cheaper than getting both a cell phone and an electric shaver separately!

  1. [...] A decidedly luxurious handset, most people will immediately price themselves out when hearing the Aura’s cost – a whopping $1,999 without a contract.  A few of those that can afford it will probably be put off by a feature set that, in more ways than one, is tantamount to that found in a $200 RAZR2 (the real RAZR phone, not this literal razor handset).
